Sun, sea and sangria

Review of holiday Costa brava, malgrat de mar

So this is just a short review of my holiday to Spain, Costa brava

So me my mum my 2 brothers and aunt and uncle went for a short break to Spain  we went at the end of August because it's just quite distruptive to close the tea shop mid summer so we can take a holiday we find it less confusing for customers if we close for the last couple weeks before the children go back to school it's also slightly cheaper and you miss all that hectic peek travel time madness.

When we arrived at our hotel I saw the beach was across the road there was plenty of shops around so I went in with an open mind which I kept in check because the hotel was pleasent at a first glance it's also nice when they have your rooms ready and everything runs smoothly.
Malgrat the little town the hotel was in seemed quite Lively and welcoming so the first thing we did was change and go out to explore (that's code for shopping)
We had a look at the beach which was literally across the road and stretched as far as the eye could see in both directions.
There's so many little cafes, restarunts and shops in the surrounding area that if you needed anything you could pick it up and the train station is only a ten minute walk the train goes to Barcelona
I didn't spend enough time in barcalona to give it a review but it's a lot like central London from what I experienced.
I do intend to go back and experience barcalona properly.
On a whole Spain was an eye opener  I enjoyed the sun sea and sangria and I intend to do it again very soon.

Another catwalk Achievement

So this weekend I went to Birmingham for stylexl.
I was one of the model selected to take part in the fashion show I was also selected by three brands to model their fashions the three brands were apples and pears, topsy curvy and Claireabellas closet of which I modelled a voodoo vixen dress.
When I was offered this opportunity to take part in Stylexl  I grabbed it with both hands for a few reasons one of which was to support the organiser Leah and  to build on my experience as a model also to socialise with other plus size bloggers and models and to also see if there was an opportunity to pick up any tips or tricks of the trade or blogging and I did just that having met the lovely blogger and youtuber Laura from "what Laura loves"  I did sit down with Laura  and we spoke for awhile about pros, cons and the realities of blogging.  she is as lovely in person as she is on her channel.
I also got to meet the lovely katherine a fellow blogger and a photographer who  managed to a few pictures of me on the stage of which I owe thanks anyway back to the fashion and the catwalk.

when I  woke up at 4 AM Saturday morning I was really feeling calm which is quite new for me usually when I take part in events like these I do get a bit nervous beforehand so I think Experience has  enabled me to feel more confident and not so nervous, I think it helps to know what you're doing as well.
so I got up at 4 AM caught my train at 7:30 from Euston and the journey was so quick it was lovely I got to Birmingham at 8:30 and I ordered an uber which I managed to use a promotional code from love from Laura which allowed me to ride for free, my uber experience was quite pleasant and I think it's an ingenious idea and a really  Safe way for women to travel especially at night.
with this uber app you don't need any cash or any cards to make payment it goes through paypal or a pre saved card, you also don't need any  taxi Numbers  and they usually very near and very quick to arrive so it is a service I would recommend
when I arrived at the parragon hotel I was greeted by a flustered yet well organised Leah and within 20 minutes I was offered to have my make up done by sulmaz gallehdar from the Central School of make up she was so lovely and patient with me and the make up turned out perfectly
it wasn't long before it was time to try on the outfit that then select for me

The first outfit i got to wear was a leopard print jumpsuit from tops curvy

the lovely jumpsuit by topsy curvy it's so comfortable and flattering ‪#‎topsycurvy‬ this

The exclusive 'daisy' print fabric by voodoo vixen

unique key hole neckline detail, super cute pockets and detachable belt make this a very special dress. The vintage inspired cut is super flattering, fits to the waist and flares out over the knees.
it did fit me perfectly in 1X

Mint and white peplum from apples and pears clothing
i love this top i am a fan of peplum so when i saw what i was going to wear i was super excited, mint is my favourite colour. i think this is a lovely top for a summer function you could pair it with a fitted skirt for a work function or with some denim shorts for a BBQ

As part of the evenings entertainment stylexl hosted a pageant called modelxl which is a a body confidence pageant where the contestants were judged on their creativity as well as their body confidence and how they present themselves. The whole pageant was inspirational my favourite round was the Eco outfit section where  the ladies had the chance to upcycle or recycle an old outfit or other fabrics this round was so fabulous as you can see from these pics

on a whole the event was a success for the events planner leah and for myself as i had a fabulous time with my fellow bloggers and models and i cant wait for us all to get together again soon
